What to expect

Once you have booked your appointment, intake forms will be sent to your email inbox. If you do not have an email address please let reception know and you may arrive 15 minutes early to fill out the forms in person. If you are using email and don’t receive your forms please call the clinic and let us know. We request that you complete these forms as soon as possible so that our practitioners can review your history in advance. Please arrive to your appointment on time to ensure adequate time for our practitioners for your first visit.

Your initial visit is comprehensive and includes a history, examination, consent and treatment plan. Treatment is usually rendered on the first visit however in rare cases treatment may be delayed to your next visit. Expect to be at the clinic for 45 minutes to 1 hour for your first visit.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Please bring comfortable, stretchy clothing, such as tank tops and shorts for your appointment. We also have extra gowns and shorts available for you to borrow if needed. If needing to change into different clothes, please arrive early and do so in the washroom prior to the start of your appointment. If you have any pertinent information you would like your practitioner to review (i.e. imaging results), please bring a paper copy with you or email the file to our reception (info@mountainhp.ca) prior to your appointment.

Direct Billing

We offer direct billing to most insurance providers. Please give our receptionist your information in advance or bring it with you to your first visit. You do not require a doctors note to receive coverage for chiropractic services.

Check with your insurance company before your appointment if you would like to know how much coverage you will receive. Unfortunately, our receptionist cannot do that for you in advance and can only check after treatment has been rendered and the appointment has been processed. Please be aware that you may still pay a fee depending on your amount of coverage

If you have been in a car accident you can book your chiropractic appointment at any time once you receive your claim number. You do not need pre-approval or a medical note to be eligible. Physiotherapy, massage therapy, acupuncture and kinesiology are separate forms of therapy and do not in any way influence your ability to receive concurrent chiropractic care. It is best to start chiropractic care as soon as possible following a motor vehicle accident. Please be aware that if your accident occurred more than 3 months ago there may be additional steps to take in order to receive treatment approval. If you are injured at work please report the injury to your employer and take the necessary steps to obtain a claim number. Once you have your claim number you can book your appointment and bring your information to your first visit.
